To Our Fellow Domestic Violence Prevention Advocates:

As we look forward to and begin to prepare for the National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, October, we recognize this to be an important opportunity to introduce We Are Phenomenal Women (WAPW) 501C3 non-profit corporation to our community.
We are Phenomenal Women is a newly formed Domestic Violence Awareness and Empowerment Organization founded by Sherneice Gatewood. We Are Phenomenal Women recognizes the importance of collaborating with our sister and brother agencies to raise awareness every day, not just for the month of October, about this critical issue in every New York City community.
We are dedicated to being a local and national resource and also a voice within the community in preventing and addressing family and community violence. WAPW provides: workshops, open forums, support groups, victim advocacy and women empowerment groups.
We Are Phenomenal Women is committed to working everyday in each and every one of our communities to increase public understanding and awareness. We provide educational materials, participated in Grassroots Initiatives such as Stop the Urban Youth Violence and MCC Autumn Social Service Fair. We Are Phenomenal Women were overjoyed to have participated in each and every one of these charity and fundraising events within the New York City Community.
Founder and CEO, Sherneice Gatewood, has been on numerous internet radio stations like 90.3 FM WHCR, “Keeping it 100 with Kim and Della” and the Fact Desk. She has spoken at the National Action Network (NAN), the National Organization of Women (NOW), Harlem Liberation School, NYPD Safety Summit at NYC Department of Education, to help raise awareness and spread the word about domestic violence and her organizations presence at the forefront of this movement.
It is up to all of us to become involved in the effects to stop the domestic violence in our communities. What hurts one in our community hurts all of us.
